Questions About Out-of-the-Box Web Design

The monthly price makes the service simple, but you should still know exactly what you’re signing up for. Here are the details clients usually want before getting started.

  • Your first $199 payment starts the project and becomes your first month of service. It is not an added setup fee. Billing continues monthly for as long as you want the website to remain live, and there is no minimum contract period.

  • The service includes a specialized design customized for your business, up to 10 business content pages, website copywriting, content placement, hosting, domain management, launch setup, foundational SEO, ongoing support, and unlimited updates.

  • Yes. You can view the available designs before submitting your project form and select the one you prefer. We’ll confirm that it fits your content during onboarding and help you choose another if needed.

  • No. We write the website copy based on the information you provide about your business, services, customers, and goals. You are responsible for reviewing the copy and confirming that the business information is accurate.

  • Unlimited means there is no set number of update requests. Send us changes whenever you need them, and we’ll update the website for as long as your subscription remains active.

  • Yes. We complete the standard Squarespace SEO setup for launch, including page titles, meta descriptions, image compression, alt text, Google Search Console connection, and sitemap submission. These steps help search engines understand the website, but rankings, traffic, leads, and sales cannot be guaranteed.

  • Yes. A domain you bring to the project remains yours. If HDS registers a domain as part of the service, HDS owns and manages that domain while the subscription is active.

  • HDS owns the website, original copy, domain, and other assets we create for the project. You retain ownership of any domain, photographs, copy, logos, or other materials you provide to us.

  • Yes. There is no minimum contract period, and you may cancel by sending written notice. The website will be taken offline when the subscription ends because the website and HDS-created materials are not transferred. Payments made before cancellation are nonrefundable.

  • The website and update service may be paused or locked while the account is past due. Once the balance is brought current, service can resume. If the subscription is not being resumed, HDS may end the service and permanently shut down the website according to the service agreement.

  • Out-of-the-Box Web Design does not cover e-commerce websites, fully custom designs beyond the available specialized designs, or projects requiring advanced tools and functionality that the package cannot support. We’ll recommend Custom Web Design or E-commerce Web Design when one of those services is a better match.

  • Yes. HDS is based in Maine and works remotely with small businesses across the United States.

  • We’ll review your business information, website needs, and preferred design to confirm that the service fits your project. We’ll then contact you to schedule a call, answer any remaining questions, and discuss the next steps.

  • No. You choose a specialized design as the starting point, but HDS handles the work for you. We customize the design for your business, write the copy, prepare your content, build the Squarespace website, and continue managing updates after launch.
